What Do Moms Really Want?
A recent study revealed that moms should take breaks by going on mom-cations. Seriously, was that study even necessary? We all know that moms need a break every now and then!
Being a mom means putting her own needs aside, losing sleep and aging faster, along with financial and time stresses. Most moms make sure everyone is taken care of before they take care of themselves. And quite often, since moms put themselves last, they may not have the time or money to practice self-care.
When time and money are tight, and that mom-cation to the beach is not practical, there are ways to tailor a getaway for individual budgets and time limitations.
Here's a few budget friendly mom-cations that won't break the bank:
Massage Therapy is a necessity, not a luxury. Whether you need to relax or reduce tension in the body, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall mental and physical well-being. It helps reduce stress and pain, while loosening muscles in the body. It also promotes relaxation and sleep. The results can last several days.
2. A Hotel Room
A few years ago, a good friend told me that she goes to a hotel overnight twice a year to get away for 24 hours. She brings a swimsuit for the pool, books and comfy pajamas. Sometimes, she may even catch up on tv shows that she doesn't have time to watch at home. She relaxes and recharges. What a brilliant idea!
3. Relax. Breathe. Fleauxt.
As stated in the above tweet, get mom "multiple hours in a sensory deprivation chamber." YESSSS! Imagine floating effortlessly in 10-inches of body temperature water without any disruptions.
This Mother's Day, Fleauxt is offering what every mom dreams of...alone time.
These special offers expire May 12, 2019. However, the person who receives a package will have one year to use the services (we hope they don't wait that long).
As a mom, I am guilty of putting myself last. I've also used the excuses of not having time or money. My husband, Curtis, once told me, "You are the crazy glue that holds our family together." Did he really need to use the word "crazy?" Like me, if you are the glue that holds your family together, you may need to get away, relax and restore yourself so that you can be the best mom for your family. Make your self care a priority!
