"I Can Just Float In My Own Pool/Tub"

If we had a dollar for every time we heard this, we would have multiple Fleauxt locations!

The most common misconception for those unfamiliar with floatation therapy is that soaking in Epsom Salt in a bathtub or pool is equal to floating in a floatation therapy tub (tank/pod). While one can certainly enjoy the benefits of a good Epsom Salt soak at home, they most likely won't be able to "float". The benefits of floatation therapy do not compare to taking a bath at home or trying to float in a regular pool.

Here are a few reasons why Floatation Therapy is different than floating in your tub/pool:

Epsom Salt

Each of our float tubs contain 10-inches of water filled with 1,000 pounds of Epsom Salt. This salty solution is so dense that our bodies naturally float on the surface, making the body buoyant. The buoyancy provides a feeling of weightlessness in water warmed to skin temperature.

Some people fall asleep while floating due to being fully relaxed. If a person were to fall asleep while floating on top of water in a pool, they would be disappointed.

Water Temperature

Our water is heated to skin temperature. This is important because a person can no longer decipher where the body, water, and air begins or ends. Since everything is set to the same temperature, it feels like you are floating on Cloud 9. It is almost impossible to replicate these conditions in a pool/tub.

Removes All External Stimuli - Floatation Therapy is also known as Sensory Deprivation. By removing external stimuli (sight, sound, and touch), it allows the body and brain to reach greater levels of rest and relaxation. Our rooms were designed to block out external light and sound. Again, this is almost impossible to replicate in a pool/tub.

Don't get us wrong, we love water and encourage everyone to be in water whenever they can. However, if you want the benefits of Floatation Therapy, definitely visit your local float center! You can schedule an appointment with Fleauxt HERE.

Here are just a few benefits of Floatation Therapy: extreme relaxation, mental clarity, increased creativity, improved sleep, reduced anxiety, pain reduction, and become a better athlete! There have been numerous scientific studies that prove these benefits.

So, instead of trying to add 1,000 pounds of Epsom Salt to your tub (even more for a pool), step into FLEAUXT!
